Revitalize Your Smile and Confidence with Teeth Whitening
A radiant white smile can boost your confidence and be a great way to get noticed. However, everyday factors such as drinking coffee can cause dental stains. Fortunately, Dr. David M. Kaffey offers teeth whitening services at our Lansdale, PA, office to eliminate dental stains and ultimately brighten your smile. With extensive training and experience, our doctors and staff combine personalized care with advanced technology to provide the most comfortable and rewarding dental experience. We offer in-office and at-home whitening methods that use peroxide-based whitening gel to break down dental stains.
What Causes Stained Teeth?
Dental stains are either intrinsic or extrinsic. Extrinsic stains appear on the surface of your tooth, while intrinsic stains can be found in tiny cracks on the enamel, or within the dentin of the tooth (tissue directly below the enamel). Extrinsic stains are caused by foods, beverages, certain medications, the natural aging process, and lifestyle behaviors, such as:
- Smoking or chewing tobacco
- Drinking wine or coffee
- Eating hard candy
- Poor oral hygiene
A radiant white smile can boost your confidence and be a great way to get noticed.
In-office Philips Zoom!®
Our in-office treatment, Phillips Zoom!®, uses a teeth-whitening gel along with a proprietary LED light to accelerate the whitening process.
First, your dentist will perform a routine examination to determine if teeth whitening is right for you. Once your candidacy has been determined, your teeth will be cleaned. Your lips and gums will then be covered, allowing the hydrogen peroxide gel to be evenly applied to your teeth. As the LED light activates the gel, the whitening properties of the solution begin to break down stains and discoloration. The gel is applied in three 15-minute sessions. A typical visit can be completed in about an hour.
At-home Opalescence® Whitening
Opalescence® treatment uses custom-made whitening trays that conveniently brighten your smile in as little as two weeks. The solution (either carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide) penetrates the enamel and oxidizes the discolored molecules inside your tooth, which results in a whiter smile. Additionally, Opalescence® contains potassium nitrate and fluoride, which has been shown to help reduce sensitivity.
If you choose to whiten your teeth at home you will be fitted for a dental tray, which you will wear for several hours per day, for two to three weeks. The custom-made trays are easy to take on and off, and can be worn during the day or night. The gel is available in four different concentrations for flexibility, and comes in three different flavors to appeal to all patients.
The team at Leading Dental Solutions were so nice and friendly and there was no bait and switch. I received the teeth whitening service I purchased thru Groupon without them trying to upsell me. My teeth turned out beautifully. I would highly recommend. - Cindy W.
